This is a turn-key Meshtastic radio using the RAK Wireless WisBlock board, which is the gold standard for power efficiency and reliability. At idle the WisBlock only draws 10 microamps of power - that's 10-millionths of an amp!
With our large 3000 mAh battery we're seeing runtimes in excess of 3-1/2 weeks on a single charge. Easily charge it from any USB power source, including a cheap solar panel from Harbor Freight, or whatever else you've got.
The antenna we're using is correctly tuned for the US 915 mHz range and has an SWR of only 1.1, which is phenomenal.
This device is ideal as a mobile unit, mounted in a vehicle or worn on the body or backpack. Great for hiking, camping, hunting, etc. With the included suction cup window mount it's very easy to mount this unit in an ideal window in your home, high up, with the best view possible of your surrounding area. It also allows you to mount it to a window in your vehicle for mobile use.
We will be designing a backpack strap/MOLLE bracket for it as well. It will be very affordable. Please keep an eye out for that.
The sliding lid of the case incorporates a water resistant dovetail design which safeguards the internal electronics from rain while worn on-body.
The neck of the case, at the base of the antenna, has loops incorporated to allow you to lash this radio to anything you want using paracord, carabiners, etc.
We will be releasing a 10000 mAh battery version which should provide over 2-1/2 months of runtime on a single charge, so stay tuned for that!
